The Dutch people have a long history of prevailing in a challenging environment under constant threat from Mother Nature and aggressive neighbors. But prevail they have, and established a strong cultural sense and distinctive language. As a very small country with a densely packed populous they have worked very industriously to make the best of their assets. Today they have one of the highest per capita GDP's in the world though they are not a land of luxurious living. It is truly a land of flowering beauty, tree-draped canals and more bicycles than any other country on the planet except for China (which has almost 90 times the population).

Inn, Veere, Zeeland
In this small village on Holland's southern province of Zeeland one can enjoy tranquility and the delicious feeling of escape. At breakfast in the local Inn, the sun peeks in to find you relaxing over your morning coffee. International Court of Justice
This spectacular golden iron work sits atop the gates to the International Court of Justice in The Hague. The roofline in the background belongs to the "Vredespaleis" or Peace Palace which houses the Court. The Palace was completed in 1913 with funds provided by Andrew Carnegie. A special Carnegie foundation was created to manage the construction, ownership, and maintenance of the Palace.
