In Jerusalem there is a set of buildings known as Yad Vashem dedicated to archiving, preserving and displaying information about the holocaust. The stark building from which this photo was taken yields a glorious view of the Jewish homeland framed by a hollowed triangle of metal. Masada - From the top one can see the footpath that snakes down to the base of the mountain over 1,000 feet below. The path was originally built by the Romans almost 2,000 years ago. Looking carefully you can see the remains of the square encampment walls erected by the Romans during the 18-month siege of Masada. In the distance is the Dead Sea. ©Gerald Diamond All rights reserved
